Heprinized Syringe delivered on ice to the laboratory
Specimen Handling Instructions
Physician or respiratory draw. Specimen must be delivered on ice to the laboratory ASAP. If ABG is received in lab greater than 2 hours from time of collection, the sample will be rejected due to deterioration of components.

15 minutes
Routine Turn-around Time
Specimen stable for only 2 hours on ice. Any speciemn received after 2 hours will be rejected.
