Specimen Volume and Collection Instructions:
3.0 mL Lavender top tube.
Gently invert the tube 8 to 10 times immediately after collection to ensure proper mixing of blood and anticoagulant
Sampling Handling Instructions:
Transport Specimen ambient. Frozen specimens are not acceptable.
Stat Turn-around Time:
1 hour from specimen arrival in the laboratory
Routine Turn-around Time:
Inpatients: 4 hours from specimen arrival in the laboratory
Outpatients: 24 hours from specimen arrival in the laboratory
