Sample Type

Endocervical, vaginal, throat, Urethral, and rectal swab specimens or raw urine transferred to Cobas media within 24 hours

Collection Tube

·   Endocervical, vaginal, throat, and rectal swab specimens are collected with the cobas® PCR Female Swab Sample Kit.                                            
 • Urethral samples should be collected with a smaller urethral swab and then placed into the cobas® PCR media
• Raw urine should be collected in a sterile container or poured into a cobas® PCR Urine Sample Kit

Storage Conditions: 2-30oC

Transport

All swabs can be transported in a cobas® PCR media tube and urine can be transported in the sterile container or a cobas PCR media tube at 2-30oC

Sample Stability

All swabs and urine samples are good for up to 12 months at  2-30°C once the specimens have been stabilized in cobas® PCR media.              
Frozen samples are not acceptable.
