Specimen: Stool
Collection Notes: Recommended for foreign travel (include relevant travel history on requisition), recent immigrants or immunocompromised patients. For routine O&P screening, please order test 10382 (Giardia/Cryptosporidium Screening).
Transport Temperature: Room Temperature
Specimen Volume: Preferred Volume: 10 gram or 5 mL; Minimum Volume: 10 grams or 5 mL
Also Acceptable: Raw stool in a sterile container.

No ova or parasites seen on Trichrome stain and Iodine Wet Mount.

Notes: Includes Trichrome stain. Does NOT include Cryptosporidium (test # 1366) or Enterobius Vermicularis, pinworm (test # 9802). These tests must be ordered separately with different specimen types. In order to adequately rule out a parasitic infection, it is recommended that three separate stool samples be provided on three consecutive days
