Specimen Handling and Stability

Separate serum from contact with cells as soon as possible.

Once separated from cells, PTH is stable:

4 hours room temperature (15 – 30 °C)

8 hours when stored (2 – 8 °C)

For longer storage, samples can be frozen at ≤ - 20 °C for up to 6 months

Stat Turn-around Time

1 hour from specimen arrival in the Laboratory

Routine Turn-around Time

24 hours from specimen arrival in the Laboratory
